Who we are
LedgerWise is published by Unsel Studio, a trading name of Unsel Consultancy Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. For anything about this policy, write to support@unselstudio.app.
What we collect
Nothing. We do not run servers for LedgerWise and we never receive your records or any information about how you use the app. You do not create an account with us. The app makes no network requests of its own; the only connection it uses is Apple’s iCloud, and only if you turn synchronisation on.
What the app stores
- The records you enter: company details and logo, customers, sales invoices, expenses, cash deposits, bank receipts, transfers, dividends, recurring payments, expense categories and tax settings.
- Bank statement lines you import (date, description, amount and balance) and the decisions you make on them. The statement file itself is read once on your device and is not kept or sent anywhere.
- Settings such as language, theme and which company is open; these stay on each device.
iCloud synchronisation
If you turn on iCloud synchronisation, your records are stored in the private iCloud database of your own Apple Account so that your iPhone, iPad and Mac show the same books. Apple stores this data encrypted and only devices signed in to your Apple Account can read it. We, as the developer, have no access to it. Synchronisation is chosen on each device and can be turned off at any time in Settings → iCloud Synchronization. Apple’s handling of iCloud data is covered by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Security
On your device, LedgerWise data lives inside the app’s own protected storage and is covered by the device’s encryption; a device passcode, Face ID or Touch ID keeps it locked when the device is. iCloud traffic is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple. PDF statements are read by a copy of the open-source PDF.js library bundled inside the app, which runs locally and does not connect to the internet.
Backup files and exports (JSON, PDF, CSV) are created only when you ask for them and saved where you choose. They are not encrypted and contain your financial records, so keep them somewhere safe and share them only with people you trust, such as your accountant.
No analytics, ads or tracking
LedgerWise contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code and no third-party SDKs that collect data. It does not track you across other apps or websites. Apple may collect general App Store data, such as downloads, as part of its own platform; see Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Deleting your data
Delete records in the app, or remove a whole company in Settings → Company Information → Delete Company. Deleting the app removes what it stored on that device. To delete the copy in iCloud, use Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage → LedgerWise on iPhone or iPad. Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.
Children
LedgerWise is a business tool and is not directed at children. It collects no personal data from anyone.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have rights over personal data held about you. As we hold none, there is nothing to access, correct or delete, but you are welcome to contact us with any question. You can also contact the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
